Course Repeat Rule

The following applies to all courses for the POLITICAL ECONOMY AND GLOBAL STUDIES MAJORS:
Students who earn a grade of F, D-, D, D+ or NP may repeat the course only once. Regardless of the grade the student receives for their second attempt (including F, D-, D or D+), the student may not repeat the course a third time.

DeCal Courses in Political Economy

So, you want to create a DeCal course offered through IAS or Cognitive Science? Great! Getting a DeCal approved through IAS or Cognitive Science requires several steps which must be completed accurately and on time.

DEADLINES
A complete DeCal Course Proposal must reach an IAS advisor in 101 Stephens or a Cognitive Science advisor in 140 Stephens by:

  • November 1st, for a DeCal offered for the Spring semester
  • March 30th, for a DeCal offered for the Fall semester

Begin by reading our current policy on the sponsorship of DeCal courses (listed below). Please note that IAS and Cognitive Science policies and deadlines may differ from those of other campus departments and from the DeCal website and office personnel. SO, please – read the info below so that you stand the best chance of putting together a fun and successful course, while also making sure that the course gets approved so you can actually teach it!
